Perché è Veramente Cosa Giusta e Saggia e un buon pasto fa sempre piacere, ecco perché.

Tutto quello che trovate su Vallemaggiaonline.net e nel mio sito dedicato all'e-learning è offerto gratuitamente a tutti, con alcune semplici .

Magari non sembra, ma mantenere questo sito costa tempo e fatica. A parte le donazioni dei lettori, non siamo pagati da nessuno per gestirlo e aggiornarlo.

Non ho ambizioni di guadagnarmi da vivere con questi siti, anche se ci piacerebbe poterlo fare. Li gestiamo per passione, non per denaro. Ci accontentiamo di ripagarci almeno le spese vive: l'affitto del nome di dominio, il consumo di banda, gli abbonamenti ai servizi di supporto e la manutenzione del servere. Grazie a pubblicità e donazioni posso permettermi anche di fare un po' di "volontariato informatico".

Di conseguenza non mi offendo affatto se mi "mandate a quel paese". Ci sono due modi per soddisfare questa sana pulsione:

Appearances notwithstanding, maintaning this Website takes time and commitment. Apart from readers' donations, nobody pays me to manage it and keep it up to date.

We don't expect to make a living from this site and e-learnin, although that would be nice. This is a labor of passion, not a money-making effort. We'd be happy to earn enough to cover expenses (e.g., domain name registration fees, bandwidth usage, online service subscriptions, server maintenance). Also, adverts and donations allow me to spend some time doing work as an "IT volunteer".

Non è né uno scherzo né una truffa. Uso PayPal da più di due anni, e devo dire che funziona, benchè ci siano in giro siti che ne parlano male.

Secondo metodo: banconota in busta

Se preferite, potete ricorrere a un metodo meno tecnologico ma altrettanto efficace: una eurobanconota (taglio a piacere) in una busta indirizzata a:

Quando spedite la busta, mandatemi un e-mail di preavviso e includete nella busta almeno il vostro indirizzo di e-mail, così potrò confermarvi che la busta è arrivata sana e salva e mangiare una fetta di focaccia alla vostra salute.

Method no. 2: Banknote in an envelope

If you prefer, you can use a less hi-tech but equally effective method: a Euro banknote (any value) in an envelope addressed to:

When you post the envelope, please e-mail me in advance to let me know, and put at least your e-mail address in the letter, so I can confirm that the envelope arrived safely and eat a slice of Italian focaccia to your health.

Ma non è illegale spedire contanti per posta?

E' un'opinione molto diffusa che sia del tutto illegale inviare una banconota in una busta. In realtà la situazione è un po' più complessa. Ecco cosa mi hanno risposto le Poste Italiane quando ho scritto loro per chiedere chiarimenti il 15/11/2003: "Lei può spedire denaro solo ed esclusivamente con Posta Assicurata in quanto l'assicurata è obbligatoria per la spedizione di invii contenenti: denaro, oggetti preziosi, titoli di credito ed altri valori."

Quindi spedire contanti per posta è perfettamente legale se si usa la Posta Assicurata. Questo sembra essere confermato dall'unica copia di regolamento delle Poste che ho trovato online, datato 9 aprile 2001, che dice "Art. 6. - Obbligo di assicurazione - Per spedire denaro contante e valori in genere il mittente è tenuto ad utilizzare gli invii assicurati di cui all'art. 15, dichiarando il relativo valore."

Ulteriore conferma arriva da fonte ufficiale, ossia il sito delle Poste Italiane, la cui Carta di Qualità dice specificamente "denaro, preziosi e titoli possono essere spediti solo con Posta Assicurata, dichiarando il relativo valore".

Non è chiaro però quali siano le conseguenze (se ve ne sono) per chi contravviene al regolamento e invia una banconota in una busta non assicurata.

Wait, I thought it was illegal to send money by post

Many Italians believe that it's illegal to send a banknote by post. Actually, things are not as simple as that. The Italian Post Office wrote to me on 15/11/2003 on this matter, saying that "You can send money only by "Posta Assicurata" [a sort of insured registered letter], since this "assicurata" is mandatory for all post that contains money, valuable items, securities, and other valuables."

In other words, it's perfectly legal in Italy to send cash by post if you use a "Posta Assicurata".This would also seem to be confirmed by the only copy of the Italian Post Office regulations I've managed to find online, which is dated 9 April 2001 and says: "Article 6. - Compulsory insurance - To send cash and valuables in general, the sender is required to use "assicurata" mail as specified in Article 15, declaring the corresponding value."

Another conformation comes from an official source, the Italian Post Office's Website, whose Quality Charter says specifically that "cash, valuable items and securities can be mailed only by "Posta Assicurata", declaring the corresponding value".

However, it is unclear what penalty (if any) there is if one disregards the regulations and sends a banknote in an envelope without using the Assicurata.
